‘ROUND THE CORNER CONCERT SERIES
IMAGINED SPACE | BRANDING | MAGAZINE | EPHEMERA
Round the corner is a concert series promoted/sponsored by Aspyr Music. All of the artists are hand-selected by Aspyr and range in their style of making. Although, this isn’t any ordinary concert. Round the Corner is set up in a maze format allowing the viewer to enter from any direction and wander down the halls. Each wall has an installation piece where there is a hole cut out so the viewer can stand underneath and position his head inside to view. Inside the installation, the viewer will be prompted to put on the displayed headphones, and then the music and video will start playing. These videos consist of animation to give the viewer snippets of the story or feeling (see Aspry Music to view the animations). Round the Corner wants the experience and path to be entirely up to the viewer which is why we designed multiple entry points. To us, music is a very individual experience and we want to remind you to feel whatever you are feeling, understand it, learn from it, and see where it takes you.
Along with ‘Round the Corner Concert Series comes the ‘Round the Corner Publication featuring all of the musical artists featured at the concert. It is a piece of ephemera you can purchase when coming to the show that will forever be with you. This book is designed with the same concept of the concert encouraging the reader to make their own path through the book flipping from page 05 to page 37 and from page 40 to page 08 etc. The reason behind this concept of an adventure book is because it enforces the idea of music discovery and allows the viewer to have full responsibility for which path they will take. Our main goal is to allow for music discovery as well as to feel involved and connected to the music and the artwork you are viewing. Each page consists of a still from the animation crafted for that particular song displayed at the concert with instructions to not only find out more about the artist but also direct you to another page that we think goes well with the song & artwork you are viewing currently. There is no correct way to flip through this book!
